This week was a bit of a doozy. Freddy got his first really bad illness, which knocked him out most of the week and weekend. We spent a lot of time at the doctor – ‘does it require antibiotics or doesn’t it’ – and even a trip to a hospital at the weekend. He seems to be on the mend, but it was very scary for a couple of days (why can’t babies just learn to blow their noses!) Once he is through the woods, I have a few thoughts on how I can manage him (and us) better for the next go around. As I said to my sniffly, cold-ridden husband, ‘is this our life now?’
Freddy is now eating three meals a day, and I’m sort of in the swing of it. It doesn’t require a lot of advanced planning and sometimes his ‘meals’ are random things I’ve got in the freezer, fridge, or cupboard, but he doesn’t seem to mind. Or maybe he does. But babies can’t talk, so….
We didn’t leave the house much because the weather was terrible – not only cold and rainy but windy. I’m feeling a bit of cabin fever, but spring is around the corner (right? RIGHT?) so I’m just going to try to enjoy these cosy days at home with my chunky, cheeky little man.
